Google ASN
AS15169 is one of the most looked-up ASNs in the world, not just because it's Google, but because the 8.8.8.8 public DNS resolver, used by millions of devices and networks as their default resolver, operates under this very same Autonomous System. The lookup below pulls the official holder, announced prefixes and BGP neighbours straight from RIPEstat's public API.
That is why this tool's default example uses 8.8.8.8.

ASN stands for Autonomous System Number, a number that identifies a network that routes traffic independently on the internet, defining its own routing policy via BGP. Internet service providers, cloud providers, large companies and universities typically have their own.
It covers a very large part, but Google (Alphabet) operates other ASNs for specific services and acquisitions. This one is by far the best known and most seen in DNS and network lookups.
It was one of the first free, highly available public resolvers, with an easy-to-remember address, launched by Google in 2009. Today it shares the field with other public resolvers like Cloudflare's 1.1.1.1.
RIR (Regional Internet Registry) is the entity that assigned the block of ASN numbers and IP addresses to that organization in its region, for AS15169 the RIR is ARIN (American Registry for Internet Numbers), responsible for North America, even though the service operates globally.
Not necessarily. Prefix count measures addressing fragmentation, not network capacity: Google runs large, contiguous blocks, while a CDN like Cloudflare accumulates thousands of small blocks from bring-your-own-IP customers, a different business pattern, not a size signal.
Look up an ASN directly (AS15169 or 15169) or an IP address, and the tool finds the ASN announcing that address on the internet. Data comes from RIPEstat, RIPE NCC's public routing statistics API, straight from your browser.
The lookup runs directly from your browser against RIPEstat's public API (RIPE NCC), the J-Kit server never intermediates that call. ASN, prefix and BGP adjacency data are public internet routing data, the same information any network announces to its neighbours.
