how to use discord timestamps
Pick the date, time and event zone in the generator: it shows the nine styles side by side and copies the finished tag. The structure is always the same, three parts between angle brackets, and only the final letter changes how it looks.
Equals 21:20:30 UTC, because Sao Paulo is at UTC-3.
With no letter, style f applies, seen here in pt-BR in the Sao Paulo zone.
Preview in pt-BR, Sao Paulo zone.
In en-US the same tag shows as 04/20/2021.
The month name follows the reader's language.
Corresponds to 2001-09-09 at 01:46:40 UTC.
Write '<t:SECONDS>' or '<t:SECONDS:STYLE>' in the message, with SECONDS as Unix time. For example '<t:1618953630:F>' shows the full date for 2021-04-20 21:20:30 UTC, adjusted to the reader's time zone. Pick the date, time and event zone here and copy the finished tag.
Style f, long date with short time. The tag <t:1618953630> and the tag <t:1618953630:f> show exactly the same text.
The documentation describes it as message formatting. Not every area of the interface applies formatting, so test where you plan to use it; where it is not applied, the raw tag text shows.
Yes. Each tag is independent. A common announcement uses two: the full date and the relative one, like <t:1792796400:F> (<t:1792796400:R>). The Batch tab creates several tags at once.
No. The Discord client uses the reader's own device zone and language. The writer only needs to give the right instant, which is what the generator computes from the event zone.
Type or paste the times, one per line.
