The product cost R$ 800.00, so the true discount is R$ 100.00 off that amount.
black friday real discount how to calculate
The tag discount compares the price now with the “was” price, which the store picks. The real discount compares with the price you saw before, and the two can differ a lot: from R$ 1,000 to R$ 700 advertises 30%, but if the product was R$ 800 two weeks ago, the true discount is 12.5%.
The product cost R$ 800.00, so the true discount is R$ 100.00 off that amount.
The “was” price is the earlier price: the tag and the math agree.
There is no discount: the price now is above what you saw.
The offer is better than the tag says, because the product had cost more before.
Compare the cash price with the cost of the installments in today's money. To do that, work out how much would have to be invested today to pay each installment on its date, considering the yield and income tax. If that total is below the cash price, installments win; if it is above, cash wins. The Worth it mode does this and shows the difference in reais.
No. It has no price history and does not query stores. You enter the earlier price, and the tool shows what those numbers imply: the real discount and its distance from the advertised one.
From a screenshot of yours, a saved cart, a promotion email or a price tracker. The closer to 30 days before the offer, the more useful the comparison.
It is the direct subtraction between the two percentages. From 30% advertised to 12.5% real, the difference is 17.5 percentage points, not 17.5% of anything.
Enter the cash price and the installments: the tool finds the interest rate the plan hides.
That is 23.46% per year (effective rate, compounded).
Each month the plan charges 1.772% on the balance you still owe (first installment in 30 days). In total you pay R$100.00 more than the cash price.
This monthly rate is about 1.7 times the reference monthly Selic rate.
If the first installment were paid upfront, the hidden rate would be 2.184% per month (29.60% per year).
This is the rate hidden in the price difference and the dates. The CET (Total Effective Cost) of a loan also adds fees, insurance and taxes, which are not included here. If any apply, the real cost is higher.
