Open Advanced options, type the caption and choose position, color and size. The result frame, next to the timeline, shows the caption over the current frame already cropped, and the same text is drawn on every GIF frame when generating.
A 480x270 frame with size 10%: 27 px font and 31 px lines.
The size control limits on the same 270 px frame.
270 minus the 11 px margin minus the 31 px line: the line top sits at 228 px.
The first line starts at the 4% height margin.
(270 minus 31) divided by 2, rounded: 120 px.
Pick the file, mark the clip and click Generate. The tool extracts frames with the browser's own player, draws each one on a canvas and builds the GIF in memory, all on your device. Nothing is sent to a server, so there is no queue, no upload limit and no copy of your video anywhere.
The preview shows the frame at up to 480 px wide, and the GIF may be smaller or larger. Since the size is a percentage of height, the letter proportion relative to the frame is the same in both; what changes is the physical size on the screen where you open the file.
The caption uses the Impact font when the system has it, then Arial Black and then the system default font, always bold. There is no font choice. Emojis and accents appear according to the device system, which makes the result slightly different between computers.
Yes, it is drawn on every frame, in the same position. There is no caption that changes over time. For two lines at different moments, generate two GIFs from different clips, each with its own caption.
Conversion happens in your browser. The video is not sent to any server.
