A personality quiz based on the model with the strongest scientific backing

The Big Five model (also called OCEAN) is considered the most scientifically validated framework in personality psychology, with decades of research replicated across dozens of countries and languages, far stronger empirical backing than type-based tests like MBTI or the Enneagram.

The quiz combines 25 statements, drawn from a larger pool each attempt, spread across the model's 5 dimensions. The result shows your trait chart and the profile closest to who you are, among 11 possible profiles.

How the result is calculated

Each dimension (Openness, Conscientiousness, Extraversion, Agreeableness, Emotional Stability) draws 5 of 7 possible statements from its bank on every attempt, on a 1-to-5 agreement scale, with 2 reverse-worded statements per dimension to reduce the tendency to always pick "agree", the same psychometric technique used in the DISC Quiz.

The "Emotional Stability" dimension is the inverse of the clinical Neuroticism used in the original academic literature: the items are worded so agreeing signals more stability, not more neuroticism, keeping the same "higher means more of this trait" reading across all 5 dimensions. The result is the closest match to your 5-dimension vector (Euclidean distance) among 11 profiles: the 5 "pure" styles, 5 common trait-pair blends, and one balanced profile.

This is an educational self-discovery tool, it is not a validated clinical instrument (like the NEO-PI-R, a licensed commercial test) and does not replace a professional psychological evaluation. The item wording is original, in the spirit of the IPIP (International Personality Item Pool), the public-domain item bank created as a free alternative to proprietary inventories.

All possible results

The Visionary

Naturally curious, you're drawn to new ideas, art and unconventional ways of thinking before even knowing what they're good for. You spot connections others miss and get bored fast with routine, though you can start more projects than you finish without someone anchoring your focus.

The Meticulous Strategist

Organized and reliable, you plan ahead, follow through on commitments and review the details before calling something done. You're the reason long projects don't fall apart, though ambiguity or last-minute changes that call for improvising can throw you off.

The Catalyst

You gain energy from social interaction, strike up conversation easily, and tend to be the one proposing the next get-together or group project. Your presence lifts any room, but long stretches alone without external stimulation tend to drain you faster than other profiles.

The Diplomat

Cooperative and trusting, you prioritize group harmony and tend to give people the benefit of the doubt before judging. You're who others turn to for mediating friction, though you can struggle to defend your own interests when they collide with someone you care about.

The Anchor

You stay calm under pressure, bounce back quickly after a setback, and rarely let a worry follow you around for days. You're who others turn to in a crisis, though that same steadiness can read from the outside as indifference in situations that call for a visible emotional reaction.

The Innovative Architect

You combine intellectual curiosity with execution discipline: a good idea isn't enough, you want to structure it and see it become reality with quality. You're the profile that turns vision into an executable plan, though the high bar you set for yourself can tip into perfectionism that delays delivery.

The Explorer

You seek novelty in both ideas and social experiences, preferring to test an unconventional path over repeating the safe formula. You're the person who brings fresh energy and perspective to any group, though boredom with routine can make you abandon something promising too soon.

The Driven Leader

You combine social energy with execution discipline: you take the lead on a project, mobilize the people around you, and hold deadlines firmly. You're the profile that makes things happen at a fast pace, though that same pace can steamroll people who need more time to process a decision.

The Warm Connector

You build genuine relationships with ease and prioritize the group's well-being as much as the outcome of the task. You're the one who remembers everyone's personal details and keeps the mood light even under pressure, though you can avoid giving hard feedback to protect the relationship.

The Peacemaker

You combine cooperation with emotional stability: friction rarely rattles you, and you prioritize keeping the relationship healthy even in disagreement. You're the calm presence that keeps a small conflict from becoming a crisis, though you can take too long to take a stand when an unpopular decision needs making.

The Multifaceted

None of the 5 dimensions clearly stands out over the others, which isn't indecision, it's flexibility. You adjust your behavior to what the situation calls for: curious when you need to innovate, disciplined when you need to deliver, sociable when you need to connect. Your edge is versatility; the risk is not having a predictable "default mode" others can easily read.
