Yes. Written accents apply to both capital and lowercase letters in Portuguese: ÁGUA, ÔNIBUS, ÓTIMO. The tool keeps accents by default and only removes them if you turn off Keep accents.
Because the original case carries information that is lost: proper nouns, acronyms and letters like ß. After lowercasing, nothing says Paulo was Paulo or USP was USP. Keep the original and use Undo to go back.
