Yes, and that is the tool's main use. The search covers the legal name and the commercial name, so typing part of a name already filters the list as you write. To open the full record of a specific institution, enter its 14-digit CNPJ.
Search every intermediary registered with Brazil's CVM (brokers, distributors, credit unions, custodians and banks) by name, CNPJ, type or state.
Anyone looking up a broker at Brazil's CVM usually wants to confirm that the institution is registered, what registry status it is in, and who answers for it. This tool uses the official registry of capital-market intermediaries, which covers not only brokers but also distributors, credit unions, custodians, registrars, depositories and banks with an investment arm. You search by the commercial name you know, by tax ID, or filter by type, state and sector, and get the legal name, registry status, reported net assets, address, contact details and the officer responsible before the CVM. The content is informational and is not investment advice: registration proves formalization and supervision, not the quality of the service.
An intermediary is an institution authorized to act between the investor and the securities market. The best-known category is the brokerage, but the CVM registry covers several others: distributors, credit unions, custodians, registrars, central depositories and banks with an investment arm. Each type plays a specific role in the trading, custody and settlement chain.
The previous tool showed only brokers. This one uses the CVM's full intermediaries registry, which also lets you find the distributor running your account, the credit union in your city, or the custodian holding a fund's assets.
The registry status shows whether the intermediary is active, cancelled or in extrajudicial liquidation. It is the most consequential field: a cancelled institution can no longer intermediate transactions. The record also carries the reported net assets, the CVM code, the activity sector, the ownership control, the full address, phone, email and the officer responsible before the regulator.
Net assets, when available, help gauge the institution's size, but are not an indicator of service quality or of the safety of the products offered. For banks cancelled decades ago, that figure is historical and does not reflect the present.
The data comes from the CVM's official intermediaries registry, accessed through Open Data and kept as a local copy, refreshed when the tool is republished. The registry date in use is shown at the top of the screen. Registry status and address change, so any consequential decision deserves a check at the CVM itself.
Registration is not an endorsement. It proves the institution formally exists and is under supervision, which matters for transparency, but it does not assess service, costs, soundness or suitability for your profile. Before opening an account or transferring funds, confirm the current status, read the contract and check complaints.
Paste the code into your HTML and the tool shows up on your page, without J-Kit's navigation and ads. It still runs in the browser of whoever visits your site.
