The best known derivative calculators hide the step by step behind a paid subscription, giving away only the final result for free. This tool does the opposite: type a function, and it differentiates it symbolically using the standard rules (power, product, quotient, chain, exponential, logarithmic, trigonometric and hyperbolic), showing every named step, with the expression right before and right after that rule is applied. Beyond the symbolic result in plain text and LaTeX, the tool computes higher order derivatives (second, third, and so on), differentiates with respect to a specific variable when the function has more than one (a partial derivative), evaluates the derivative at a point together with the matching tangent line, and analyzes the function from its own derivative: critical points classified as a maximum, minimum or inflection, intervals of growth and decline, and inflection points from the second derivative. All of it comes with the function and its derivative plotted together.

Polynomials, trigonometric functions (sine, cosine, tangent and their inverses), hyperbolic functions, exponentials and logarithms, including combinations built from sums, subtraction, products, quotients and composition (the chain rule). Factorial, the remainder operator (%) and min/max are not elementarily differentiable, and the calculator says so instead of risking a wrong result.
