Why does the calculator reject some cycle numbers common in PCOS?
Because the cycle length field only accepts values between 21 and 45 days. Someone with PCOS whose cycles exceed 45 days, common when ovulation is delayed or absent that month, simply has no valid number to type, and the calculator blocks the calculation instead of risking an estimate outside the range it recognizes.
Within the accepted 21-to-45-day range, is the result already reliable for PCOS?
Not necessarily. Even at the two ends of that accepted range, the estimated ovulation date ranges from day 7 to day 31 after the LMP, a 24-day difference caused only by the typed number. Since PCOS can change the cycle's own length from one month to the next, the previous cycle's number poorly predicts this cycle's ovulation, even when both fall inside the valid range.
Can the calculator indicate when a cycle had no ovulation?
No. The function that calculates ovulation always returns a date and a 7-day window for any accepted cycle length, it has no separate result for "no ovulation". That is why a calculated date should never be read as confirmation that ovulation happened that cycle, only as what the calendar would predict if it had.
