Rate at signal 89, compared to Genshin/Star Rail
- Input
- sinal 89
- Expected output
- ZZZ: 90,6% | Genshin/Star Rail: 96,6%
ZZZ's ramp starts one signal later (75 instead of 74), so at the same point it has climbed one fewer 6-percentage-point step.
Zenless Zone Zero pity
Zenless Zone Zero pulls S-Rank items (Agents and W-Engines) through signals, with a 90-signal hard pity just like Genshin and Star Rail, but with one detail that changes the outcome: soft pity kicks in one signal later, at 75, not 74. That small numeric gap hides a visibly slower probability curve near the end.
ZZZ's ramp starts one signal later (75 instead of 74), so at the same point it has climbed one fewer 6-percentage-point step.
Before signal 75, ZZZ's behavior is indistinguishable from Genshin and Star Rail: the difference only shows up near the end of the ramp.
The 90-signal hard pity matches Genshin and Star Rail, so the worst case (two full cycles) matches too.
Pity is the count of signals since your last S-rank. Soft pity (from 75 in Zenless Zone Zero) is when the S-rank chance starts rising a lot each signal. Hard pity (90) is the cap where an S-rank is guaranteed. The calculator accounts for all three.
At signal 75, one signal later than the 74 used by Genshin Impact and Honkai: Star Rail, even though all three share the same 90-signal hard pity and the same 6-percentage-point increment per pull.
Because the worst case depends only on the hard pity guarantee (90), not on the shape of the soft pity ramp. The ramp changes the AVERAGE number of signals spent, but the guaranteed ceiling remains two 90-signal cycles.
The hard pity, soft pity and 50/50 numeric system follows the same architecture on both banners; each banner runs its own count, without sharing its accumulated pity with the other.
1 divided by 0.6% is 167, but that math describes a theoretical average with no pity or soft pity at all. In practice the 90-signal hard pity cuts that average off much sooner, and the ramp starting at signal 75 concentrates most of the real probability well before 167.
Zenless Zone Zero: 0.6% base rate, soft pity at signal 75, guaranteed hard pity at 90.
The soft pity curve follows community-estimated values from game data; the base rate and pity limits are the official ones. Use it for planning, not as a guarantee.
