Pity is the count of warps since your last 5★. Soft pity (from 74 in Honkai: Star Rail) is when the 5★ chance starts rising a lot each warp. Hard pity (90) is the cap where a 5★ is guaranteed. The calculator accounts for all three.
See the exact chance of pulling the featured 5★ from your pity and warps
In Honkai: Star Rail, each warp has a low chance of giving a 5★ character (0.6% base rate), but from warp 74 (soft pity) that chance climbs fast every attempt, up to warp 90, where the 5★ is guaranteed (hard pity), the same system as Genshin. When you pull a 5★ on a character banner, the 50/50 decides whether it is the featured character or a standard one; if you lose the 50/50, your next 5★ is the guaranteed featured. This calculator uses that real system and sums the probability warp by warp (including the soft pity ramp and the 50/50) to tell you the exact chance of getting the featured character with the warps you have.

Honkai: Star Rail: 0.6% base rate, soft pity at warp 74, guaranteed hard pity at 90.
The soft pity curve follows community-estimated values from game data; the base rate and pity limits are the official ones. Use it for planning, not as a guarantee.
