0.1 µF = 100,000 pF = 10 × 10^4.
0.1uF to nF pF converter
Between picofarad, nanofarad and microfarad each step is a factor of 1,000: 0.1 µF is 100 nF, which is 100,000 pF. In the Value to code mode of the tool you enter the number and the unit and get the 3-digit code a factory would print, here 104.
0.1 µF = 100,000 pF = 10 × 10^4.
Different units, same capacitor.
47,000 pF = 47 × 10^3 (0.047 µF).
0.022 µF = 22 nF = 22 × 10^3 pF.
1,500 pF = 15 × 10^2 (1.5 nF).
2.2 µF = 2,200,000 pF = 22 × 10^5.
104 is 10 × 10⁴ pF = 100,000 pF, which is 100 nF or 0.1 µF. It is not 104 pF. The same holds for other codes: the first two digits are the value and the third is the number of zeros.
It is 100 nF and 100,000 pF. Multiply by 1,000 for every rung you go down: 0.1 × 1,000 = 100 and 100 × 1,000 = 100,000.
Divide by 1,000,000, that is, move the decimal point six places to the left. For example, 4,700 pF divided by a million gives 0.0047 µF, which is 4.7 nF.
It is rare. 1 mF is 1,000 µF, large electrolytic territory, and it goes past what the code written by the tool reaches (up to 990 µF). The tool still shows the value in mF when it reads a code.
With three significant digits the tool returns the nearest code and the error as a percentage. For 123 nF it suggests 124 (120 nF) and shows -2.44%, and you decide whether the gap suits the design.
