Build your CS2 crosshair with a live preview and copy the ready commands
In Counter-Strike 2, the crosshair is controlled by a set of cl_crosshair* commands: style (cl_crosshairstyle, 0 to 5), color (cl_crosshaircolor, 0 to 5), size, thickness, gap, outline and center dot. Memorizing each command is tedious, this tool lets you build the crosshair visually, with a live preview over a game-like backdrop, and generates all the commands at once in the exact format the console expects (each line is name "value";). Style 4 (classic static) is the favorite of competitive players because the crosshair does not open up when shooting or walking, giving a constant reference to aim with. Colors 0 to 4 are fixed presets (red, green, yellow, blue and cyan), while color 5 unlocks a custom shade through cl_crosshaircolor_r/g/b. Unlike the in-game share code, which is an unreadable string, here you see every value and can tune it. When you are done, copy the command block and paste it into the CS2 console, or add it to your autoexec.cfg to lock the crosshair in for good.
Every CS2 crosshair fits into a handful of cvars, and understanding what each one does helps you tune with intent. cl_crosshairstyle sets the behavior (0 is the default dynamic; 1 is the default static; 2, 3 and 5 are classic styles that open up to some degree; 4 is the fully static classic). cl_crosshairsize controls the length of the lines and cl_crosshairthickness their width, both in small units, half a pixel already changes the feel.
cl_crosshairgap is the space between the center and the lines: negative values like -2 pull the lines inward, making the crosshair tighter and more precise. cl_crosshaircolor accepts 0–4 (presets) or 5 (custom, which enables cl_crosshaircolor_r/g/b from 0 to 255). The outline (cl_crosshair_drawoutline + cl_crosshair_outlinethickness) draws a dark border, cl_crosshairdot adds the center dot, cl_crosshair_t removes the top line (T style) and cl_crosshairalpha controls opacity when cl_crosshairusealpha is on.
A classic static cyan crosshair, popular because it is clean and unobtrusive, comes out like this: cl_crosshairstyle "4"; cl_crosshairsize "2"; cl_crosshairthickness "1"; cl_crosshairgap "-2"; cl_crosshaircolor "5"; cl_crosshaircolor_r "0"; cl_crosshaircolor_g "255"; cl_crosshaircolor_b "255"; cl_crosshair_drawoutline "1";. The lines are short, almost hugging the center, with a black outline so they never vanish against bright walls.
A minimalist green dot, handy for spraying and rifles, uses the color preset and the center dot: cl_crosshairstyle "4"; cl_crosshairsize "1"; cl_crosshairthickness "1"; cl_crosshairgap "-3"; cl_crosshairdot "1"; cl_crosshaircolor "1";. Here cl_crosshaircolor "1" is the green preset, so no R/G/B channels are needed, the tool only emits the custom color lines when you pick color 5.
The most impactful choice is the style: almost all competitive play uses 4 (static), because a crosshair that opens up while walking or shooting hides the exact point of impact. Next comes legibility, a thin outline keeps the crosshair visible against any scene, and a color that contrasts with the maps (cyan, green, magenta) stops it from "disappearing" into same-colored textures. A negative gap and thin lines help with long-range precision shots; larger crosshairs give a better reference for close-range spraying.
The T style (cl_crosshair_t) removes the top line, leaving a T shape that many use as a wallbang and head-height reference. Opacity (alpha) lets you keep a softer crosshair without losing the marker.
