Extracting is the opposite of removing: instead of discarding a few pages and keeping the rest, you select only the pages you want and generate a new file with them, leaving the original workbench untouched. It is the right move for pulling an ID page out of a larger form, or isolating a single chapter without discarding the rest of the book.

No byte of the content is ever sent to a server, which is also why the tool can work with password-protected PDFs without asking anyone but you for the password.
No, extracting generates a separate new file and leaves the original workbench exactly as it was, including the pages that were just extracted. If the goal is to also take those pages out of the original document, use the delete button separately afterward.
