Divide the screen diagonal in pixels, the square root of width squared plus height squared, by the diagonal in inches. For 1920x1080 at 24 inches: 2203 divided by 24, about 91.79 PPI.
Calculate the PPI of any screen from its resolution and diagonal, find the diagonal or resolution you need, see the physical size and compare two screens.
PPI (pixels per inch) is the screen diagonal in pixels divided by the diagonal in inches: the square root of (width² + height²) divided by the diagonal. A 24-inch Full HD monitor has about 92 PPI; a 27-inch 4K has about 163. The higher the PPI, the smaller the pixels and the harder they are to see. The calculator also shows physical size, pixel pitch (distance between pixels, in mm), megapixels and a suggested distance from the 1 arcminute rule, where the distance in inches is 3438 divided by the PPI. The density class is a rule of thumb, not a standard, and perceived sharpness also depends on brightness, contrast, subpixel layout and your eyesight.
