It is the 24-letter Germanic runic alphabet used in inscriptions from the 2nd to the 8th century CE. Its name comes from the first six runes: f, u, þ, a, r, k. The Kylver Stone in Gotland (around 400 CE) carries the complete series.
The asterisk marks a reconstructed form: nobody recorded these names in the age of the early inscriptions. Linguists infer them by comparing the names in later rune poems and the Germanic languages.
Yes, it is the sixth rune (ᚲ). In oracle books it is usually called Kenaz, torch, a name tied to Old English cēn. The reconstruction *kauną, boil, follows the Norse poem. The tool uses Kenaz on screen and shows the other name on the profile.
The Anglo-Saxon alphabet reached 29 runes (and later more), and the Scandinavian Younger Futhark reduced the series to 16. This tool covers only the Elder Futhark, the set used in most modern oracles.
One rune for the day, the same until midnight.
