Three positions, without replacement.
Roughly one in three spreads.
Upright, reversed and the plain one.
It is the 24-letter Germanic runic alphabet used in inscriptions from the 2nd to the 8th century CE. Its name comes from the first six runes: f, u, þ, a, r, k. The Kylver Stone in Gotland (around 400 CE) carries the complete series.

It depends on what you want. To stay with the historical set of 24 runes, leave it off. If you prefer the popular practice of commercial sets, turn it on; the tool tells you which of the two you are using.

One rune for the day, the same until midnight.
