wordle repeated letters
The classic puzzle: you played a word with two identical letters, one turned yellow and the other gray. That is not a bug. It is the occurrence-counting rule, and it changes the list of possible words a lot. The solver below applies that rule for you.
The answer has a single E. The first E of the guess uses that occurrence up (yellow); the second turns gray.
The answer has two Es, so both Es in the guess turn yellow.
Green is counted first. The first L uses the other L of the answer (yellow) and the second A has no occurrence left (gray).
For each row it simulates the result every word in the list would give if it were the answer and keeps only the words that reproduce your colors exactly. That holds for all rows at the same time.
Because the answer has fewer occurrences of that letter than your guess. Available occurrences are marked first (greens, then yellows left to right) and the extra ones in the guess turn gray.
Not necessarily. If the same letter showed green or yellow elsewhere in the same guess, it is in the word; gray only says there is no further occurrence beyond the marked ones.
Type the word and tap a letter to change its color.
