make nightcore online
Tap Nightcore to start at 1.3x or Sped up for something lighter at 1.15x. Both use the linked mode: the faster, the higher. Move the speed and watch the pitch in semitones next to it.
3:20 becomes 2:54.
3:20 becomes 2:40.
3:20 becomes 2:34.
Close to a perfect fifth (7 semitones).
Frequency doubles: 440 Hz becomes 880 Hz.
Speed (tempo) is how fast the music moves; pitch is how high or low it sounds. On a record or a basic player the two move together. Here you can change one without touching the other: 0.8x with the original pitch makes the song 25% longer without making it deeper, and +3 semitones at the same speed only makes it higher.
In practice both are sped up music with a rising pitch, and the difference is one of degree. In the tool, Nightcore uses 1.3x and Sped up uses 1.15x, which is lighter. The values are only starting points and you set the exact value.
Yes, with the Faster, same pitch preset (1.25x) or by turning off the link. That is a time-stretch: the tempo changes and the tuning stays as the original, which is not the nightcore sound, but it works for podcasts and lectures.
The exact value field goes from 0.25x to 4x, and the slider covers 0.5x to 2x. From 2x on, the length halves and the pitch rises an octave, so the result is quite cartoonish.
