slow down audio without changing pitch
Tap the Slower, same pitch preset (0.8x) or drag the speed to where you need it. With the link off, only the tempo changes. Turn on loop in the player to hear a passage on repeat.

60 ÷ 0.7.
A comfortable pace for practice.
600 ÷ 0.85 = 705.9 s.
In linked mode it would be −3.86 st.
Speed (tempo) is how fast the music moves; pitch is how high or low it sounds. On a record or a basic player the two move together. Here you can change one without touching the other: 0.8x with the original pitch makes the song 25% longer without making it deeper, and +3 semitones at the same speed only makes it higher.
The exact value field accepts 0.25x, which quadruples the length. The slider goes from 0.5x to 2x. The slower it goes, the more the sound drags, so use 0.25x only for very short passages.
It works well. For speech, 0.85x to 0.9x makes pronunciation clearer without sounding artificial. WSOLA keeps the timbre of the voice because it does not alter frequencies, and the final length is the original divided by the speed.
It is a known time-stretch effect: on long notes, repeated segments create a slight flutter. Reducing the stretch helps, for example 0.7x instead of 0.5x. With very percussive music the method tends to repeat beats, and 0.8x is usually the safe point.
