Instagram bio character limit
The Instagram Help Center states 150 characters for the bio. It is a short limit, and what misleads most when counting are emoji and line breaks, which use space without showing up as letters. The counter opens with a sample bio and shows how much of the 150 limit it uses.
55 units left.
An emoji outside the basic plane uses 2.
The emoji selector also takes 1 unit.
Cheaper than an emoji.
151 goes over by 1.
Yes. The tool gathers the most-used digital-writing metrics in a single panel, characters with and without spaces, words, unique words, lines, paragraphs, sentences and code points, plus estimates of reading and speaking time. That way you compare length, structure and pace of the text without switching between several tools, and everything updates with each keystroke you type.
150, according to the Instagram Help Center. Spaces, signs, emoji and line breaks all count, so paste your text into the tool and see the total.
In the tool, a simple emoji uses 2 UTF-16 units. Since Instagram does not publicly document the method, treat the count as an estimate and confirm in the bio field.
The tool uses 2,200 as a reference, a widely cited number that I could not confirm on an official page. Check in the app, because platform limits change.
