how to calculate time bank hours Brazil
A time bank is a running account of time: each day adds what went beyond the schedule and subtracts what fell short. The sheet below does that math day by day, shows the running balance and the deadline to offset it.
The gap between 8:30 and 8:00 is 30 minutes, above the 10 minute tolerance, so it counts in full.
2:00 + 1:30 - 0:45 = 2:45.
10:00 = 600 minutes; 600 / 480 = 1 day and 120 minutes.
Six months with a written individual agreement, one year with a collective one.
For each day, subtract the scheduled hours from the time worked: 9h30 on an 8h schedule gives +1h30, and 7h gives -1h. The time bank is the sum of those balances plus the opening balance. Example: an opening balance of +2:00, one day of 9:30 on an 8:00 schedule (+1:30) and another of 7:15 (-0:45) give 2:00 + 1:30 - 0:45 = +2:45. The tool does this day by day and shows the running balance on each row.
It can: a negative balance is time you owe the employer, offset later with extra hours. The tool shows the sign and an arrow on each row, not relying on color. Unexcused absences do not enter the bank, they are deducted separately.
Yes. When you open a new month, the tool inherits the schedule and closing balance of the previous month saved in your browser. You can also type the opening balance on the Schedule tab, with a sign, like +2:30 or -1:15.
No. It is a personal check. What counts is the employer record and the signed agreement. Use the sheet to compare with your time statement and to bring questions to HR, your union or a lawyer.
