monthly timesheet how to fill in and add up hours
Filling in a month starts with knowing how many hours the month asks for. That changes with the work pattern, the number of working days and holidays. The sheet below calculates the scheduled hours, lets you log each day and closes the total.
21 x 8 = 168 scheduled hours.
February 2026 starts on a Sunday and has exactly 4 weeks.
26 x 440 minutes = 11,440 minutes = 190:40.
16 shifts x 11 hours. The cycle carries into the next month: November starts on a day off.
For each day, subtract the scheduled hours from the time worked: 9h30 on an 8h schedule gives +1h30, and 7h gives -1h. The time bank is the sum of those balances plus the opening balance. Example: an opening balance of +2:00, one day of 9:30 on an 8:00 schedule (+1:30) and another of 7:15 (-0:45) give 2:00 + 1:30 - 0:45 = +2:45. The tool does this day by day and shows the running balance on each row.
No. Use Fill scheduled days to enter the default times on working days, then fix only the exceptions. Saturdays and Sundays with no schedule are treated as days off automatically, and national holidays are recognized.
The tool recognizes only national holidays. For a state or city holiday, change that row day type to Holiday.
