best sword enchantments minecraft
This page gives a recommended set for the sword and shows the real cost of each book and each combining order. The calculator below builds the plan from your own books.
High-level books of rarer enchantments (Looting, Sweeping Edge) cost the most. Mending and Knockback cost almost nothing alone.
Every step carries the sword accumulated penalty, and the last one, 65, is refused with "Too Expensive!".
Every step fits within 39. The exact pairing shows in the calculator, with the step-by-step tree.
Without Fire Aspect and Knockback even the simple order fits within 39 levels, but the tree plan still saves 12 levels.
The step cost is the target prior work penalty, plus the sacrifice one, plus the enchantment costs (and 1 level if renaming). Each sacrifice enchantment costs its final level on the result times the table multiplier, with separate columns for book and item. Enchantments the target cannot take are ignored.
No. Both sit in the same exclusive group, together with Bane of Arthropods, Density and Breach. Trying to apply the second costs 1 level and the first stays as it was.
In the Java 26.1 data, Sweeping Edge only accepts swords. Axes take Sharpness, Smite and Bane of Arthropods, and spears have their own Lunge.
Sharpness V, Looting III, Sweeping Edge III, Fire Aspect II, Knockback II, Unbreaking III and Mending I. Books above those levels do not exist in Survival.
That is taste. By price, Knockback II is one of the cheapest books on the list (2 levels, like Mending) and Fire Aspect II costs 4. They weigh more on the anvil order than on your wallet: with both, one by one stops being feasible.
One by one (highest / total): 65 / 163 (-97) Too expensive
