How does the calculator handle recipes that make several items?

Accepted Answer

It adds up what each item needs across all branches and only then rounds the number of crafts up. One log makes 4 planks; if you need 5, that is 2 logs and 3 planks left over. Leftovers show on the Materials tab and are reused by other items on your list before more raw material is requested.

Why do 17 rails need 12 iron ingots and not 6?

The rail recipe makes 16 at a time from 6 iron ingots and 1 stick. For 17 rails you need two recipes, 12 iron ingots and 2 sticks, and 15 rails are left over. There is no half recipe, so rounding always goes up.

What counts as a raw material?

Accepted Answer

Everything without a recipe (cobblestone, logs, sand, nether star) and the directly gathered items that also have a reverse recipe, such as raw iron, diamond, redstone, coal and leather. Any other item can become a raw material with the Treat as raw material button, handy for stopping at planks or iron ingots and counting what is missing from there.

How does smelting enter the math?

Accepted Answer

Iron, gold and copper ingots come from smelted raw iron, gold and copper, sand becomes glass, cobblestone becomes stone and logs become charcoal. The Materials tab shows how many items go through the furnace and how many coal that takes, since one coal burns 1,600 ticks and smelts 8 items. How does the wood choice work?

Recipes that accept any plank or log use the wood picked under Options and lists. With oak, a piston asks for 3 oak planks; with cherry, 3 cherry planks. Items made from one specific wood, like the spruce door, always use that wood.

Can I paste a Litematica material list?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The tool reads the Litematica text table (columns Item, Total, Missing, Available, using Total), CSV files and lines such as 64 x Glass or Piston: 12. Names can be in English or Portuguese. Names that are not craftable items or are not recognized show in a separate list and are left out of the math.

How do amounts become stacks and shulker boxes?

Each material uses the stack size of the item itself: 64 for most, 16 for ender pearls, signs and buckets, and 1 for items that do not stack. The slots of all materials are added and divided by 27, the size of a shulker box or a single chest (54 for a double chest). Each material takes its own slots, with no mixing of items in a slot.

Which recipes and game version does the tool use?

Java Edition 26.1 recipes from the minecraft-data project (MIT license), with smelting and the netherite upgrade curated by hand from the wiki. On Bedrock some recipes and stack sizes differ; the tool has no Bedrock mode. Left out are villager trades, items only obtained as loot and the stonecutter, which makes some stone blocks cheaper (stone stairs: 1 stone per stair, against 1.5 at the crafting table).

What are the returned items?

Some ingredients come back as an empty container. A cake uses 3 milk buckets and returns 3 empty buckets, and recipes with honey bottles return the glass bottle. The Materials tab lists what comes back so you do not count those items as consumed.

Question 10

Are the Portuguese names the official game names?

Accepted Answer

Not necessarily. The Portuguese names were written by hand with Brazilian community terminology and were not copied from the game's language file. Items without a translation show the English name from the game data, and search accepts both languages and ignores accents.
