how to get water out of a phone speaker
The most important step comes before the sound: unplug the charger and let the water drain. Then, if the sound stays muffled, use the 165 Hz tone below for 30 seconds, with the speaker facing down and away from your face.

A wavelength of 2.08 m in air.
One pulse per second.
A digital gain of 0.0316.
There is no proof that it does. In our searches no independent test appears measuring how much water leaves with a tone, and the 165 Hz figure looks like an app convention. The mechanism is plausible: the cone vibrates and can push droplets out of the grille, and muffled sound often improves once the water leaves. But that does not dry the inside of the device or repair corrosion.
No. Apple advises against putting the iPhone in a bag of rice, since particles can damage the device, and against using an external heat source or compressed air. Drain it and leave it somewhere dry with air circulating instead.
Two or three short attempts, with a pause to drain between them, are enough to tell whether it helps. If nothing changes, more sound will not fix it. Stop if you notice odd vibration or strong hissing.
The tone plays on any device with a browser, but there is no proof it works on any brand. The size and position of the speaker change the outcome a lot, and the 100 to 300 Hz sweep is a second try when the fixed tone does not help.
