Steam identifies accounts, groups and servers with a 64-bit number split into four parts: universe (8 bits), type (4 bits), instance (20 bits) and Account ID (32 bits). A regular account has universe 1 (Public), type 1 (Individual) and instance 1 (desktop), which gives the base 0x0110000100000000, or 76561197960265728 in decimal. The SteamID64 is that base plus the Account ID. The other formats are just another way of writing the same number: SteamID3 is [U:1:N], with N equal to the Account ID, and SteamID2 is STEAM_X:Y:Z, where Y is the lowest bit of the Account ID and Z is N divided by 2, rounded down. Example: SteamID64 76561197960287930 has Account ID 22202, which is STEAM_0:0:11101 and [U:1:22202]. This tool does the math with BigInt, detects the format on its own, shows the bits of each field and builds profile links, without querying Steam. Custom-name links (steamcommunity.com/id/name) cannot be resolved offline.

Subtract 76561197960265728 from the SteamID64 to get the Account ID (N). Then Y is N mod 2 and Z is N divided by 2, rounded down, and the result is STEAM_X:Y:Z. Example: 76561197960287930 minus the base gives N = 22202, so Y = 0, Z = 11101 and the ID is STEAM_0:0:11101.
