minecraft anvil recipe
The tool below already shows the anvil: the grid with iron blocks along the top and, on the Materials tab, the raw iron, the smelts and the coal behind the 31 ingots.
Three iron blocks on top, one ingot in the middle and three ingots below. The two cells beside the middle ingot stay empty.
That is 31 raw iron, 27 of them headed for the 3 blocks. At 8 items per coal, 4 coal is enough to smelt everything.
The 93 raw iron fill 1 stack and 29, and the 93 smelts take 12 coal.
It adds up what each item needs across all branches and only then rounds the number of crafts up. One log makes 4 planks; if you need 5, that is 2 logs and 3 planks left over. Leftovers show on the Materials tab and are reused by other items on your list before more raw material is requested.
It takes 31 ingots in total: 27 inside the 3 iron blocks (9 each) and 4 loose ingots. In raw iron that is 31 items before smelting.
It takes 4 coal, since each one smelts 8 items and there are 31 smelts. For 3 anvils, 93 smelts take 12 coal.
The grid requires the 3 blocks on the top row, so loose iron does not stand in. But each block is just 9 ingots crafted at the crafting table, which explains the 27 ingots in the count.
It is 93 raw iron, which comes to 1 stack and 29. Adding the coal, that is 12 extra items for smelting, and the whole thing fits comfortably in a chest.
